Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Black Children Reading Academy (“BCRA,” “the Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with our website, https://bcra.academy (the “Site”), and our reading program. By using the Site or submitting information to us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Our Approach to Children's Privacy
The Site is directed to parents and legal guardians, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All information about a prospective or enrolled student is provided by a parent or legal guardian.
We design our practices to be consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because a parent or guardian, not the child, provides a child’s information to enroll the child in our services, we use that information only to provide and improve our program. We do not require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary, and we do not condition a child’s participation on providing more information than is needed. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

- General usage information
We use analytics and advertising technologies, including Google Analytics (GA4) and the Meta Pixel, on our general marketing pages to better understand how visitors find and use the Site, improve our website, and measure the effectiveness of our outreach efforts.
We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles of children, and we work to keep such tracking off pages where student information is submitted.
3. How We Use Information

- Respond to inquiries and schedule placement assessments;
- Determine reading level, form instructional cohorts, and manage enrollment;

Payment processors handle your payment information according to their own privacy policies and security practices.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We also do not sell or share children’s personal information for advertising purposes.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate our program and the Site, including providers for scheduling, customer relationship management (CRM), email communications, website hosting, analytics, and payment processing. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to safeguard that information.
Instructors and Staff
Student information may be shared with instructors and authorized staff members who require access in order to provide instruction and support student learning.

However, no method of electronic transmission or data storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
