COST SHOULDN’T STAND BETWEEN YOUR CHILD AND LEARNING TO READ

Members of our community fund seats at Black Children Reading Academy so that families managing on a tight budget can still enroll. A sponsored seat brings tuition down to $5 per lesson — $40 per 4-week cycle, with the registration fee waived.

Same instructor. Same curriculum. Same materials. Same 4:1 cohort. A sponsored seat is not a lesser version of the program.

A sponsor gives $40 every month so that a family can pay the other $40 and their child can keep learning. You and your sponsor carry the seat together — that's why we ask families to apply, and why we ask you to show up.

Apply for a sponsored seat

This takes about two minutes. Sponsored seats open as sponsors come forward and as cohorts form, so we’ll be straight with you about timing after we read your application.

What happens after you apply

  1. We read your applicationYou'll hear from us within three business days. If a sponsored seat isn't available right away, we'll tell you honestly where things stand.
  2. Free placement assessmentWe sit down with your child and find out exactly where their reading is. It costs nothing and there's no obligation.
  3. Cohort seat offerWe match your child to a cohort of students reading at the same level — up to four students, one instructor.
  4. Registration and onboardingYou complete registration with the fee waived, we walk you through the take-home practice, and your child starts their first lesson.
